He plays as a midfielder for the Spain national football team and the Spanish professional football club or La Liga club Atletico Madrid. This Spanish midfielder made his professional career debut for the Spanish professional football club Atletico Madrid on 19 September 2009 against FC Barcelona after coming on as a substitute for the Brazilian retired professional footballer Paulo Assuncao.
He scored his first professional goal against Sevilla FC on 26 February 2011. In addition, he made his international career debut for the Spain national team on 14 August 2013 in a friendly match against the Ecuador national team after coming on as a substitute for Santi Cazorla, for the final 12 minutes.
